Finisterre Quintet was formed in mid 2011 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Since the beginning, its goal has been achieving a maximum quality interpretation by playing its own arrangements and trying to demonstrate that today´s Tango is the music that best represents the city of Buenos Aires.
For Finisterre Quintet, Tango is a music genre to be danced but also to be listened to. This is why it has incorporated a wide repertoire that allows it to take part in many music scenes such as concerts, or to be the musical host of a milonga.
They play tangos by famous composers such as Aníbal Troilo, Osvaldo Pugliese, Horacio Salgán, Julián Plaza, Astor Piazzolla among others. They also play their own compositions and others from present composers.
All arrangements and music compositions have been created keeping in mind the development of each instrument so that it can allow each musician to play solo and show his talent.
Due to its characteristics, Finisterre has participated in most of the "Milongas Porteñas" and in all of the "Tango por Barrios" Festivals.
It has been selected in a cycle of "Bares Notables" and in Tango festivals in Argentina as well as in Uruguay.
Finisterre has taken its music to most important Tango stages in Bs As, such as Centro Cultural San Martín, Parque Centenario´s Amphitheatre, Orlando Goñi and CAFF Theatres, Verdi Theatre and at Casa del Bicentenario.
It participated in “Pichuco”, an audiovisual documentary about Troilo´s work to be released simultaneously in several countries during 2014, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Troilo´s birth.
They recorded their first album in 2013 at ION, a very famous studio in Buenos Aires. This led to the presentation of the album in different stages.
Quinteto Finisterre is formed by Nahuel Perkan on bandoneon, Martín Santiago on contrabass, Damián Carracedo on piano, Bruno Cuellar on violin and Emilio Cossani on guitar.
